Katy Perry Teams up with Snoop Dogg for “California Gurls”

Katy Perry’s new single “California Gurls” which features Snoop Dogg has just been released. It’s a fun, upbeat summer song which will surely become a hit.

The track is confirmed to be included in Katy's forthcoming third still untitled studio album. It is said to have been released in answer of Jay-Z and Alicia Keys’ New York song “Empire State of Mind”. If that’s true, I’m not sure that this song can become the new official California song.

"It's so great that 'Empire State of Mind' is huge and that everyone has the New York song, but what the f**k? What about LA? What about California?" Katy Perry tells Rolling Stone. "It's been a minute since we had a California song and especially from a girl's perspective. We took the references of Prince, which is always a great reference, and some of the '90s, almost house music references."

Katy will perform “California Gurls” at the upcoming MuchMusic Video Awards.

WTF Friday: Belly Baring Wackness & Pocahontas Plays Dress Up

Happy Friday to all! Today's edition of WTF Friday features two really gorgeous, talented women - in completely odd ensembles. Let's get it started...

First up is Beyonce - who typically looks supa fierce. But not so much here...

Um...B, I love your...hair....but I really don't get anything else that you're sportin' here. Can someone tell me why the 'eff belly baring shirts are coming back into style? B looks like she tore off a mini curtain and hung it on her shoulders. Not cute.

And then there's the adorable Katy Perry who is really adventurous with her style...and she can usually pull it off...until she dons a Pocahontas look...

I sat here and thought, ok, maybe alone these pieces could work. And the flat gladiators are kinda fun, but WTF is with the dress and the print AND the oblong fringe? It's such an awkward cut and does nada for her great figure. No, Katy...no more Native American costumes, 'kay? Oh - and what's with the weird pose - rain dance?

New Katy Perry Song to Debut on MTV.com During MTV Unplugged Set!

"MTV Unplugged" will continue the tradition of providing music fans with stellar live performances as the network premieres its latest installment featuring Grammy nominated, superstar singer-songwriter Katy Perry airing on Monday, November 16, 2009 on MTV.com and MTVMusic.com. The series will feature Perry performing songs from her multi-platinum debut album One Of The Boys, including two of her #1 hits "I Kissed A Girl" and "Waking Up In Vegas" as well as fan favorite "Thinking Of You" and a special cover of the Fountains of Wayne song "Hackensack." The special, which will be available on-demand 24-7 on MTV.com, will also feature never before released original song "Brick By Brick," as well as a few other surprises. In Addition, Perry will share intimate details of how some of her most beloved songs came about. MTV will also air highlights from the special across its multiple platforms on-air including mtvU, MTV Hits and MTV Tr3s.

Leading up to the digital premiere, the network's morning all-music block, AMTV will begin to air performance videos taken from the taping on Monday, November 16. Palladia, the music - centric high definition television channel featuring MTV programming - will also air a half hour version of the special on November 27 at 9pm and 12am ET/PT. In addition, Capitol Records will release a limited edition CD+DVD version of Katy Perry's "Unplugged" appearance on Tuesday, November 17.

This summer Katy Perry performed an MTV: Unplugged set and is now releasing the performance as a CD+DVD! Check out the trailer here:

The CD+DVD set will be available for purchase on 11/17, and can currently be preordered on Amazon.

Pretty Katy Perry has it made in the shades as she rocks out at music fest in Scotland!

POP queen Katy Perry got fruity in front of 85,000 screaming T in the Park fans yesterday.

The kooky star lugged a huge inflatable strawberry around the stage during her spectacular set at the Balado festival.

Wearing a sexy tartan skirt, Katy enjoyed a wild welcome in the glorious Perthshire sunshine. But she only chose her outfit minutes before going on stage after the Sunday Mail helped out with a costume dilemma and told her to wear the plaid.

She had told us: "I don't know if I should wear a kilt or not - is it too cheesy?

"I have it with me but I am not sure. And if I do, should I wear underwear? What's going to happen if I put my foot up on the monitor?" After being persuaded to get her kilt on, she admitted loving her trip to Scotland.

Katy said: "I'm loving it here but I kind of can't believe that I'm here, hanging out with all the cool rock guys.

"It's like the nerdy kid from school accidentally ending up getting invited to the cool kids' party. But it's great, though. Here in Europe, you guys do festivals better than anyone else in the world.

"It's a real rite of passage thing - it hasn't gone that far in the States.

"It is getting there, we are trying but we don't have the same sense of culture around it all that you guys do.

"I love festivals here and I am loving Scotland."
