My IRL Take on Zac Posen for Target...

Hey everyone! Because I was bouncing around Chicago on Sunday, I wasn't able to make it to my local Charlotte Target for the unveiling of Zac Posen's Target line. However, I did have a chance to try on a few of his duds on Monday evening...here are some IRL photos and my thoughts...

Normally I would link up my photos to the dresses online, but unfortunately, 90% of them are sold out right now. Your best bet is to trek to your local Tar-jay or check eBay if it's all sold out online...

Tiger Print Sailor Dress, $39.99 (Size Small shown)

My review: I think this dress is adorable. Is the print a bit much - sure - but I like it anyway. I know some ladies take issue with the sleeves, but I think they are kind of kitchy cute. As for the material, it's not the nicest ever, but it's flowy and lays nicely. The fit is great with one exception - the chest. It's hard to tell from my photos, but my sisters were squished down in the size small. The back is also really adorable - there is a small opening and a tie behind the neck.

Snap Tape Dress, $69.99 (Size small shown)

My review: This dress is fab - I really wished it worked for me. The fabric is nice and the cut of the dress is just lovely...however, this runs supa tight across the chest (even more so than the Sailor dress). I could not zip up the dress past the chest - too bad...because it worked really well everywhere else.

Snap Tape Top, $49.99 (Size small shown)

My review: Cute top - too expensive for Target though, in my opinion. The snaps are nice and you can therefore adjust the look and the fit. The color is nice and bright but the fabric is just meh.

Tiger Print Tank, $16.99 (Size small shown)

My Review: Cute little cotton tank, but this ran ginormous on me. Very large in the armholes and just a wee bit "droopy" all over.

Tuxedo Jacket, $49.99 (Size small shown)

My Review: Such a hot little jacket. The design and fit are just fab. The small fit pretty true to size and if I had any need for another little jacket, I would have scooped this up in a hot second. It's an interesting piece and definitely one of my faves from the collection.

So, friends...those are my few reviews from the Zac Posen Tar-jay collection! Did you scoop up any pieces?

Real Life Review: Rodarte for Target, B+

Hello all!

Well, my mom, my future sister in law and I trekked it over to Target early Sunday morning to check out the Rodarte goods...and overall I would give the collection a B+! The offerings are really different and just a bit quirky. My main complaint is that many of the tops and some of the dresses cannot be worn by ladies who have a bit more up top.

I would say check out Target.com, but a fair amount of the collection is already sold out. It's probably a better bet to check out your local store!

1) Black Bow Halter Dress: Size 5: Such a cute dress. My main issue was that the waist line hit me at an awkward spot. Attribute that to my lack of height :) Nice fabric and adorable top.

2) Leopard Sequin Dress and Lace Cardigan: Size S (both): This dress is much cuter than I thought it was going to be. I tried on a size small - it was way too large. I wasn't able to find an XS to try :( I took home the cardigan in black and nude in an XS (mainly because of the sleeve length).

3) Bow Back Leopard Dress: Size 1: This was the only size I could try on, at first. My main issue with this dress is the lack of space for the girls. I had a total uniboob, even when I tried on a size 5 (but then the waist was too big). It's a little 80s, but I bet the dress would be super cute for some...

3) Navy Tulle Skirt: Size 5: This skirt is so cute, but yet so different. I brought this home in a size 5, even though the size 3 fit better. With one size up, this skirt falls a bit longer, therefore more work appropriate.

4) Blue Swiss Dot Dress: Size 5: Cute dress, nice fit and fabric, but it didn't do it for me. I felt a bit like a 10 year old at Easter. Maybe with the right accessories? I really wish this came in black...

5) Lace print dress: Size XS: This dress didn't do much for me. It's a cute, light-weight dress that looks adorable with the lace cardigan and bow belt, but not so much on me. It laid awkwardly on top and the XS cut very high under my arms.

6) Black Tulle Dress: Size 3: I really wanted this dress to work...but it just didn't. The attached top cami part cut my bewbs straight in half. No hot. I bet it looks smashing on others, though!

So, overall I brought home: two lace cardigans (one black, one nude), the navy tulle skirt and the magenta cami (no photos of that).

Did you check out Rodarte at Target? If so, what did you bring home?!

Dear Husband: Stop Shop-Blockin' Me!

Oh good fun this weekend...as Todd and I were frolicking through Target, yes, frolicking, I decided to take a look at the new dresses and sweaters that made their way into the store. After he patiently waited a few minutes, we and our cart shimmied, well maybe I just shimmied, onward towards the shoe section where he did the unthinkable....he SHOP BLOCKED me with the cart.

Yes, I'm copyrighting it, "shop blocked" similar to the inappropriate phrase that describes a dude who gets in the way of another dude who's trying to score with a girl...

But in my case...Todd got between me and Target merchandise. Baaad move. You just don't shop block Coley. Write that down.

Nonetheless, we had a good laugh and I ended up with the gray Target Sherpa hoodie among 95 other things that we, of course, needed in Target. After a second look in the store, I actually enjoy the contrasting "sherpa" and stiching on the gray hoodie. It looks vintage-y.

Like McDonald's says...I'm lovin' it. Just don't shop block me.

Happy Monday!

Real Life Style Swap: Target Sherpa Hoodie for J. Crew Sherpa Hoodie

I love my J. Crew Sherpa hoodie, but unless that baby is on sale, I can't stomach paying $69.50 for a sweatshirt. But guess what? Target is selling a VERY similar product, also made with Sherpa fleece!

The Target version is also called the Sherpa Hoodie and is in stores and online for $20. It comes in all sorts of colors...black, white, burgundy, teal, gray, etc. The teal and the gray aren't quite as fetching, in my opinion, because of the contrast stitching, but to each her own!

Below is a photo of me trying on the Target Sherpa Hoodie in Black in a size Small. It's super soft and cuddly and since it's the Merona brand it fits pretty true to size, if a bit large. I would go with a small for myself, as some of my things tend to make it into the dryer even if I don't intend them to!

And because I promised....here are a few shots of my gorrrgeous Ciao Bella Toni boots in Brick leather. I.love.them.so.much.

Have a great weekend!

Target Trip

I needed mascara, so of course I had to check out Target's clothing selection...here are just a few items I tried on. Please be easy on me...this is the first time I'm posting pictures of myself!

Merona Short Sleeve Dress - Geo Print
I saw this frock online and thought it looked adorable on the model, albeit a bit safari-esque. I grabbed an XS and took a trip to the dressing room.

Kinda cute, but it runs fairly large; I had to belt quite a bit of fabric. And, because I'm fun size, it was way too long on me. This style comes in solids, too.

Mossimo Supply Co. Pleated Tank

For $9.99 I would buy practically anything. This pleated tank comes in a variety of colors, the aqua and the bright orange are both very pretty in person. I tried an XS and although I love the scoop neck with the pleating, but it's a bit wide at the bottom...almost too unfinished for my liking. I look quite hippy. The width is just about the same for a S and XS. Maybe if it was tucked in with a wide leather belt I'd enjoy it more?

Gigi just reviewed a bunch of super cute dresses from Target...

Thoughts?

Target Shoe Mania

While I was out of town this weekend, I had some time to kill so I wandered in to the local Target and was blown away by the cuteness in their shoe section. Whoever is taking care of the buying for Target's summer shoes is doing a great job! I couldn't purchase any since I had little time and no room in my carry on (big surprise) but I definitely plan on heading back soon!

Here's just a taste of a few lovely pairs I saw at Target, and none of them are over $30!

Happy Monday!
