Forever 21 Clothing Haul

After putting myself on a "clothes shopping ban" for some time, I finally caved... well only slightly. I'm trying to avoid overbuying things I won't LOVE or at least use frequently (Forever21 is one of the relatively cheap stores out there so I always seem to end up buying pieces I "forget" about after wearing just once). I did my best picking out some wardrobe basics and it all came out to around $100:
1. Sequin Stripes Top ($19.80)
2. Ruched Bust Knit Dress ($16.90)
3. Fab Ribbed Knit Tank ($3.50)
4. Yadhira Knit Dress ($13.80)
5. Denim Appearance Leggings ($8.50)
6. Jewel Studded Pocket Tee ($17.80 $4.99)
7. Double Banded Headband ($1.50)
8. Removable Pin Cardigan ($15.80)
9. Refined Pintuck Shirt ($12.50)
10. Key Connector Ring ($3.80)

As you can tell I've been leaning alot towards olive, pink and navy colors.

I also picked up these sandals from a local store:

What have you been lusting after lately?

Summer dress trends

The other day I got an email from a reader asking me what some key items for summer are. As you know summer is a time for the layers to come off and our (faux?) tans to be shown.
Short denim skirts and shorts, airy dresses, full lenght maxi dresses and A-line skirts are just a few hot trends that spring to mind.
Here are my top picks for summer dresses (for UK readers), which would look good on almost all body types:
£19.99 (also available in a peachy coral)
I love this loose/airy type of dress which would look great with a pair on sandals or even for a night out paired with some booty heels.

£29.99
What more can you ask for: a maxi dress, in bright neon colors that still mesh really well together.
For those of you shorter gals like myself, who fear you can't pull of a long maxi dress, there's always the alternative of trimming it a few inches to the desired lenght or even getting it tailored.
Maxi dresses are great for casual days by the beach, brunching and even nights out (paired with the right accesories).

£22.99
I liked this dress because of the pinky/peachy/nude coloring which have really gotten alot of attention lately. It's casual and bandeau cut tops/dresses and bikini's are all very trendy at the moment.
This would work great for ladies with any excess weight around your lower body areas.
I think this would look great with a pair of  tan-brown sandals or heels.

Trendy bags to carry-it-all.. and a creative valentines day gift

Just a few days ago I came across a new online boutique selling cute messenger bags! Obviously they also sell other items like t-shirts, accesories, etc. but it's the bright bags that caught my attention. The Flying Daisies crossbody bags are a slightly more fashionable version of the messenger bag.
I immediately thought of these cute bags as a diaper bag for moms on the go, shopping trips to the supermarket or also for carrying around books- for students.

Flying Daisies offers bags in three different styles, each are made from top-quality designer materials. Each bag is hand sewn from a blend of gorgeous tapestries and features playful patterns, special silk, satin and velour linings.
My favorite part? The modern modern bright stripes and retro multi-colored shapes. Plus it's available in limited quantities so you won't have to worry about not being unique. And Michelle from the new up and coming online boutique also let me know that they're always introducing new styles.

Hot trend for Winter 2009: Knee High Boots

This season boots are back, preferably thigh high.
Here are my top picks from Target for cheap winter boots that that look chic too:

The bad news is that these are on sale and only available in selected sizes so hurry!
The third pair reminds me of the boots Kim Kardashian was seen wearing some time back while pumping gas and shopping in Hollywood.

Christian Louboutin online store

Well, it's finally here. The Louboutin website where you can browse shoes, handbags and boutiques. Let me just say the website is in one word: spectacular! I'm talking about the graphics, creativity and animation.

Check it out here and let me know what you think.

Online Shopping Review: Forever 21

Just finished placing an order online at Forever21.com
They have such cute blouses for low prices and ... so uh... I went kuh-rayzee. The only downside to the site is that their stuff gets sold out so quickly and doesn't come back in stock. About 5-6 really nice blouses got sold out before I could get my hands on them.

Overall I was very happy with my order. Alot of the tops where rayon which can look a bit see thru (specially white tops). Their blouses are usually $5-$25.
I also ended buying jeans from them which aren't bad at all (prices of their jeans range from $13-$30). Just make sure to get jeans made of at least 2% elastane if you want some stretch.

Their jewelry is also really cheaply priced and will give you alot of use so that's definitely something I'd recommend to anyone when ordering from them.
I can't say anything negative about the site, and when you order more then $75 you get free shipping.

Their dresses sometimes seem to run short so if you're a tall girl you may want to pay extra attention to the measurements. I'm 5'3 and any "dress" under 32 inches looks more like a tunic top on me.

As for their sweaters and cardigans, they can be a bit thin. I'd advise getting cardigans from other places like H&M to be honest.
It's a great place to shop for trendy pieces you'll probably only be wearing 1 or 2 seasons, but you can also get your hands on some super cheap basics and essentials (leggings, plain v neck tops, tank tops, etc)

What's you're experience with ordering from this site?
