Miu Miu ad campaign Fall/Winter 2008-2009

Yes! Miu Miu's newest ad campaign starring Vanessa Paradis is finally out for the world to see. The 35 yr old French singer has replaced Kirsten Dunst this season as the Miu Miu girl. Paradis looks gorgeous apart from the overload of blush and powder (sorry had to say it), but I guess it adds drama. I was able to peel my eyes away from that though and gush over the handbags..

Your thoughts on the campaign and bags/shoes?

P.s. anyone noticing a trend in bowler bags?

Marc Jacobs: Studs and staples

Lately I seem to be pretty mesmerized by pieces which project a punk look. Though it seems pretty simple, this new MJ creation still caught my attention.

After surfing around the internet I read mixed reviews of this unique, large leather bag which features stud detail along the top and sides and a huge tassel zipper pull. Most people seem to have an objection when it comes to the staples factor.

It measures 15" x 12" x 5". The bag features rolled double handles as well as a detachable shoulder strap. This bag retails for $528.
Opinions? Staples+Handbag= No No?

Marc Jacobs Spring Street bag

Feast your eyes on this! Purple is the "it" color this season.
This quilted, structured leather tote with front pocket detailing has a smooth surface finish on the sides, gold toned hardware and slit pockets on front and back. Additional zippered pocket on the front. Double top handles. Back wall zippered pocket. Front wall slit pocket.
This beauty is currently retailing for a hefty $ 1.648.

Judith Lieber: Limited Edition Strawberry Cupcake Clutch

I saw this clutch 3 weeks back, but thought it was wayyy too cute not to post.
Anyone who knows me personally knows I heart anything and everything to do with CAKE! Feast your eyes on this cupcake... clutch!!

My brain says it's an (exquisite) piece of metal decorated with tiny dots of crystals, but my stomach says "eeeaat it."

This clutch was spotted in Sex and the City the movie, worn by "Charlotte'"s 4-year-old daughter. Read more about it at Sassy Bella.

Sex And The City: The Handbags

Well  I know you SATC-addicts are still shaking in your Manolo Blahniks after seeing the SATC movie.

One of the trends getting a lot of interest are the handbag(s) showcased in the movie.

Pour your Cosmos girls because I bring to you once again the adorable and trés chic Eiffel Tower bag by Timmy Woods which is selling for $450. And hey, if you ever get fed up of it, use it as an ornament. (Hint for those of you looking to buy it: I saw on a few sites available for a bit less).

The version shown in the movie is the Swarovski version as I'm sure you may have seen and it's available for a whopping $3000, incrusted with over 6300 crystals to be exact. I think it’s pretty reasonable if you compare it to the other designer bags being sold though.

I predict that this trend has started another explosive trend: handbags in the shape of objects, for instance the Marylin Monroe Phone and The Lips Purse seen here- both by Timmy Woods.

Prada Has Me Seeing Money Fairies

I think if I had to pick this would probably be the "it" bag for 2008: the "Prada Fairy Bag". The moment I saw it I fell off my chair and simply needed it.

The ink design is authentic…oh yes! The bag is actually stained with ink. I googled more info about it and read that some people claim this bag bleeds (the ink) when it comes in contact with water. Could it be? Yes... Sadly it's true.
But... only the first batch which was made.

After people went to the stores and complained asking for refunds they fixed this "issue" so rest assured that chances of getting these faulty bags are pretty much slim to nothing.
I mean who wants topay over $2,000 for a bag and then have it look like a kindergarten kid's art project? Now it’s made complete with a protective treatment, so you can still look fly in the rain!

The bigger one I love.. but if you google the smaller one it's also soooo cute!!!

It's said to be a limited edition. The smaller version retails for $2290 and the larger for $2490. Call your local Prada boutique to inquire and be put on the wait list.

Nautical Trend

The crisp, clean lines. Navy Stripes. Anchor necklaces. Ahh...

It's not even a "trend" since it's been around for ages starting (think Coco Chanel).
Like most themes it's nice in moderation. But I prefer it as an accent piece to make an outfit more interesting, either on my shoes, blouse or better yet handbag.;)

The bf got me a fabulous Nautical Striped Duffel bag for my birthday. I LOVE the metallic anchors printed on it and also the gold chains which hang from it.
