Shock Scandal hits Hollywood

The scandalous lives of Hollywood’s elite just hit an all time high. Reports have just been released which disclose that Jennifer Aniston, Liv Tyler, Anne Hathaway and Melanie Griffiths were all targets in a fraudulent credit card scam by their beautician.

The leading ladies who are all clients of Maria Gabriella Perez have had thousands of dollars swindled from their credit cards by the Beverley Hills salon owner.

Perez who was arrested at her salon Chez Gabriela Studio is being investigated for "fraudulently [charging] approximately $280,000 worth of charges in a one year period," court documents revealed. TMZ.com have also concluded that the paperwork states that: “Perez swindled $214,000 from Liv Tyler alone.”

Melanie Griffiths has already said she will "cooperate with an investigation and testify if needed."

She was due to appear in court on Wednesday (August 18). If Perez is found guilty she will serve a maximum of 25 years in jail.

TV star Tyra Banks has come under fire for promoting unrealistic thin bodies in commercials for her hit modeling reality show America’s Next Top Model.

The contestant, who was with a shockingly thin waist and proudly boasted that she has the “smallest waist in the world”, was praised by Banks. The TV show star came under fire from bloggers after the clip featuring the 19-year-old model Ann, that shows Banks tell the judges:
"There's something about her that I like."

Tyra Banks apologized for the controversial promo and responded to the negative feedback.

“In an effort to create a fun and entertaining sneak peek of the upcoming cycle, America’s Next Top Model released a trailer that was edited in way that misconstrued our overarching message,” Tyra Banks said in a statement.

George Clooney's Italian Ladylove Linked to Cocaine Scandal

George Clooney's super-hot Italian amore, Elisabetta Canalis, has one super-hot mess to deal with.

The 31-year-old model and TV host's name has surfaced in a police investigation concerning an illegal drug and prostitution ring at two Milan nightclubs.

According to Italy's Corriere della Sera newspaper, Karima Menad, a 26-year-old Parisian model-turned-escort, told Italian prosecutors about how she and Canalis partied at hotspot The Club in 2007.

"I remember taking cocaine with Elisabetta Canalis and two others," Menad told investigators in 2008, according to documents obtained by the newspaper, considered one of Italy's most reputable dailies.

Menad testified that she was among a bevy of beauties hired by The Club to entertain guests in the VIP room.

"Their job was to encourage these customers to drink alcohol as to increase the table's bill, followed up by sex off premises," prosecutor Frank Di Maio stated in the documents.

At the time, Canalis had not yet hooked up with Hollywood's perennial bachelor, who was dating Sarah Larson.

"We were in The Club and it was December 2007," Menad added. "We had been at a party of some famous, rich celebrity whose name I cannot remember. I don't remember who brought the drugs but we all took it."

Canalis met Clooney in 2009.

Menad's testimony enabled Italian authorities to shut down the nightclubs on July 26 and place its five owners under house arrest.

Reps for both Canalis and Clooney have so far remained mum on the matter. However, the model denied allegations of drug use to Vanity Fair's Italian edition in a 2008 interview.

"Obviously whoever is putting these rumors out there succeeded in his intention to discredit me," she said at the time. "I've never used any drug. I've never even smoked weed. But in the entertainment business, if you ignore the phone call of some powerful character you will have to pay for it and nothing works better than a mean gossip."

Topless photo scandal at Miss Universe contest

In what appears to be a drastic bid to make global column inches, the Miss Universe pageant released official photos taken by photographer Fadil Berisha of some of the contestants posing topless and covered only in strategically placed body paint.

The nudity has caused an uproar of criticism from many commentators who view the racy photos as a blatant attempt by organisers and the Trump organisation (which co-owns the Miss Universe Organisation with NBC) to increase ratings.

Donald Trump, no stranger to publicity and making a buck, has no problem with the promotional photos for the beauty contest which takes place in Las Vegas on August 23.

"The Miss USA Pageant and the Miss Universe Pageant just got renewed for three years by NBC," Trump told The Insider. "The ratings have been terrific. We are in a different age. They are a little bit sexy but I'll tell you what - everybody's watching so I have no problems with it."

Ironically, Trump terminated Miss California Carrie Prejean's contract last year after photos surfaced showing her partially nude with her back turned to the camera.

The pageant body paint photo shoot gave the contestants the choice to take off their tops and bare all. Miss Trinidad and Tobago reportedly "felt liberated and artistic during the shoot." Miss USA said she felt comfortable taking her top off because she's "known to standout and always wanting to do something different."

But Miss New Zealand, 21-year-old Ria Van Dyke, opted not to strip off. Perhaps she thought going topless for the sake of art and ratings wasn't worth it.

Still, is Van Dyke tarred with the same tacky brush? Have beauty pageants stooped so low that it now takes naked women to make them relevant and newsworthy?
