Glasses style accessories

GlassesThere used to be a time when wearing glasses is associated with being nerdy. But these days, glasses are not only worn to enhance vision; they are also used as styling accessories. Now if you are planning to get one, for whatever purpose, you have to choose the shape that’s right for you, your face’s shape in particular. If you want to look good, the glasses’ frame must enhance your face not detract from it.

You’re lucky if you have an oval-shaped face because almost any frame will suit you well. You just need to try them all on and see which one looks great. Take for example Julia Roberts and Jennifer Aniston.

Go for rectangular or square frames if your face is round like Drew Barrymore or Kate Winslet. The angular frames will minimize the roundness of the face and make the features sharper. Dark-colored frames and those made of metal are best if you have a round-shaped face.

Oblong faces are perfect with square or round frames. This kind of glasses adds width to the face. Just see what this kind of glasses do for Gwyneth Paltrow and Sarah Jessica Parker’s long pretty face.

Bright Neon Wayfarers

Last summer, sunglasses were all about serious glamour: oversized, superflattering, chic black shades, even embellished with stones.
But this year the look is more quirky instead of Hollywood chic. Ray Ban's classic design in black have been replaced by crayon/neon colours and it seems like the styles are still sticking around.

Case in point: sometime back, Scarlett Johanson was pictured in NME wearing blue Wayfarers, while Sienna Miller was pictured accessorising a vintage frock with a pair of red and blue Wayfarers. Anne Hathaway recently chose an acid-pink mirrored pair to give a jolt of colour monotone outfit, while Rachel Bilson wears giant Wayfarers in zingy apple green.

Lauren Conrad sportin' navy blue wayfarers (on Mahalo Fashion)... and now I want a pair too! They'd definitely go well with my dozen blue jeans.

If you don't want to drop a ton of money on a trend that may be gone in a few months. I spotted a few on Fred Flare for only $10 and they come in red, blue, green, purple, black, clear, orange and more! You can check out Amazon.com for other cheap pairs if you don't own a pair already.

Trend: Ray Ban Sunglasses

As you must have noticed styles from the 50's, 70's and 80's are all back IN!! And if a certain style hasn't come back yet, rest assured it will... and bigger and better then ever.

From polka dots and those "busy" prints to skinny jeans and off the shoulder loose tops, sunglasses are no exception.
The sunglasses of the season are definitely the Ray Ban Wayfarer- designed in the 1950's. I still remember them being around in the 90's... If I'd known they where gonna come back in style, I would have kept mine haha.
I was a bit weary at first but the look has kinda grown on me since I adore "vintage" looking stuff.
Marilyn Monroe, Audrey Hepburn (Breakfast at Tiffany’s), Andy Warhol and Tom Cruise (Risky Business). Today, celebs like Chloe Sevigny and Sienna Miller have brought them back the style.
