Katharine McPhee Releases New Album - Unbroken

Katharine McPhee Unbroken
Katharine McPhee is back with her sophomore album “Unbroken”. Her first album after American Idol wasn’t so successful, and there seems to be mixed reviews about her latest one. Some say that she still hasn’t found her sound, others love her new look and music.

She can definitely sing, but her songs on “Unbroken” risk being forgettable and sad.

Katharine co-wrote 6 of 13 songs, including a title track she wrote with Paula Cole. “Had It All” was penned by Kara DioGuardi.

Katherine McPhee - dropped by RCA Records

Katharine McPhee has left her record label, RCA Records, joining fellow "American Idol" contestants Taylor Hicks and Ruben Studdard as former members of the Sony BMG family.

McPhee parts way with the label after just one album, her self-titled 2007 release, which debuted at No. 2 on The Billboard 200. The album has sold just 366,000 units in the United States, according to Nielsen SoundScan.

Her hit single "Over It" debuted on the Billboard Hot 100 at number 48 on the chart for the week ending. It has since peaked at number 29.

The music video hit #1 on both TRL's and VH1's Top 20 countdown. "Over It" debuted at #1 on the VH1 Top 20 countdown, and maintained the top position for three consecutive weeks.

McPhee gained stardom after being the runner-up to Hicks in the fifth season of "American Idol"
