Cubicle to Cocktails: Put Some Power in Those Flowers

Good day, all! Hope every one of you enjoyed a great St. Patty's Day!

Today's edition of Cubicle to Cocktails features a subtle floral print button down. Now I know what you're thinking, florals - for spring, groundbreaking (shout out to Obsessionista!). But really florals are everywhere for spring and I truly think that a micro floral print could easily transition from a business look out to casual cocktails.

That being said, I like a solid navy blazer (I own the GAP blazer shown below and it is one of my favorite pieces in my closet) paired with this little beauty, add a slightly sheen-y pencil skirt and you are a pro at the office. To transition to cocktails, pull on some skinny or straight leg white jeans (whichever works with your body type), throw on some freakin' adorable wedges (Miss Justine from Fetching Fashions highlighted the lovelies below just a few days ago) and you are beverage ready.

So, ladies - what do you think? Will you flaunt the florals, or leave them for the vase?

Boyfriend Jeans Are Not For Me...But Blazers Are!

So, after a lovely weekend with my mom, I have decided, I just don't think boyfriend jeans are for me. I've tried GAP, Current/Elliott, Banana Republic, Old Navy and Madewell.

After my plight, my husband finally said to me, "Babe, not all jean styles were meant for everyone." He may have a point. Just maybe.

Here's a quick review of a few pairs at just a few stores...

Madewell Boyfriend Jeans

For those of you who are near a Madewell, their boyfriend jeans, like many others, run enormous. Again, I know they are supposed to be a relaxed fit, but I don't want to propose a search and rescue mission for my butt.

I tried on a 25 at Madewell and they fit the best out of lot, but not enough to make a purchase. I must say though, the new Madewell store in Charlotte is very nice.

GAP Destroyed Boyfriend Jeans
I tried on a 0 today and while they fit much better than a 2, they just didn't look great. the 2 had too much slouch, the 0 not enough. Plus, I was not digging the whiskering on the front.

Old Navy Weekend Jeans
The 2 fit ok, but nothing groundbreaking. I looked sloppy, not trendy.

So, for now, I give up my search. I did, however, score a gorgeous white blazer from Banana Republic, on sale PLUS my 30% off...I only paid $52 for that puppy. Here she is! I went with a size 0 and it looks great.

How was your weekend? Any shopping successes?

Loving My GAP Shrunken Boyfriend Blazer

Happy Friday, all!

As soon as I make a purchase, I pretty much have to wear it. Read impatience. I used to "save" items to wear for a special occasion, but now I am a firm believer that you should try to look, and therefore feel, your best every day. New clothes make me feel very special. hahaha!

Today was no exception. I am loving my GAP Shrunken Boyfriend blazer that I reviewed yesterday along with some other items. I'm currently sporting with jeans with the sleeves rolled up, but I think it would look precious over a dress, too!

Here's my outfit of the day. What do you think?

My trip to GAP...for the 30% Give to Get Promo

On my lunch break today I took a quick trip over to GAP to check out a few things for the 30% Give to Get Promo. And, although I'd really like to post some real-life pictures of items I tried on, my computer at home crashed so that's a no-go.

So, to make this a swift post, below are the few items I attempted and my reviews!

Long Wrap Cardigan: This looked nice and cozy on the hanger, but on me it looked a little too casual. Reminded me a bit of pjs - I bet my mom would like it. She loves her some pjs.

Boyfriend Jeans: I tried on a size 2 and they were MONSTROUS. Seriously huge on me, I looked like a little girl trying on her grandpa's jeans. And listen up, GAP, I'm not that small. Also, although I like the wash, the whiskering on the front was a bit much for me.

Shrunken Schoolboy Blazer: Adorable. I can definitely see wearing this all through fall and into the North Carolina "winter". It's a nice weight and it's well lined, too. I tried on a 2 and it fit great.

Braided Corsage Tee: Super cute on the hanger. I tried on this top in an XS in a beautiful steel gray but it was really big. I didn't see this in petites...but if I had maybe it would look better on me?

Are you going to head to Old Navy, GAP or Banana Republic for the 30% off promo?

*Don't forget - if you need an in-store code, just send me an email and I'll hook you up!

Kanye West Is Interning With Gap?

One thing about the fashion industry that everyone knows, if you want to be taken seriously, you have to pay your dues. We all know Kanye West is passionate about fashion, but his latest stunt makes us look up to him just a little more.

Kanye, knowing how much hard work goes into the multi billion dollar business of fashion, is interning at GAP’s New York offices. Aww, how cute!

Okay, but let's be honest... it's just hard to imagine the outspoken hip hop star, Kanye West, who has a Louis Vuitton sneaker line, is actually interning for GAP. Word on the street is that he offered his intern services for free to a number of brands and ended up at GAP. According to sources, Kanye is working overtime and even late on Friday nights.
