What I Wore Wednesday Week 21.

I am back for another week of WIWW and as always I am linking up with all the ladies all over the world via The Pleated Poppy.  Why not pop over and see what we have all being wearing this week.

Taking Poppy for her night time stroll, I have no make up on (shock!) and am rather hot and sweaty but this is what I look like at this time of year, and I am sure (hope) I am not the only one.

Wearing this years version of the loose linen dress (I brought two in the sales).
Dress - Zara
Sandals - Primark

A blessedly cool and overcast day, much to my sisters up set who was hoping for the beach.  Poppy got another evening stroll and I tried to do the "holding up the building" shot, not very successfully.

Shirt - Day A Day
Linen combats - Zara sale
Sandals - Mini Boden

Now I do normally wear this with a belt to give me some shape, but it was too warm so I went for loose and breezy.  Also showing off my new shoes and bag, I am thinking ahead to autumn with these new buys.

Dress - Sfera
Shoes - Zara new season
Leather Bag - Local made market 25€ a bargain I think.

A close up of my pretty new shoes, my sister told me I had to have some colour in my life and that flat shoes need toe cleavage to stop them being frumpy.  Check and check.  I think they are going to look great popping out of dark blue jeans, when I can wear them again

So happy I found this stall at out local evening craft market, they have so many great leather pieces.

I thought I had found a t-shirt style that suited me at long last, but seeing the pictures I am not sure now.  What do you think?

T-Shirt - H&M
Skirt - Made by me and seen here.
Sandals - Primark
Necklace - EmersonMade

Well that's it from me for now, I have managed to get a few last minute bargins in the sales and after a bit of hemming (the price for being small), I will share them with you all, so until next time friends......

Try and stay cool.......  ax

If anyone know the origins of this photo please let me know, it is on my pinterest but has no back link.  I would love to credit the owner.  ax

What I Wore Wednesday Week 20

I am back for another week, although not mush to show as I keep forgetting to take photos and there has been a lot of lying around wearing as little as possible to keep cool, I promise to do better next week.  I am linking up with the girls from The Pleated Poppy as always and I am looking forward to seeing all the red, white and blue that was worn over the weekend.

At my mum's in Harpenden before a full days shopping followed by bingo....and we won!  Hehe not a lot but all good fun and rather exciting.

Jumper - Massimo Dutti ss11
Jeans - Boutique in St Tropez
Belt - American Eagle
Espadrilles - Local Market
Bag - Local Market
Sunglasses - deBijenkorf

Back in hot, hot Palma and off for a walk and an ice cream with the dog, we know how to live us two....

Shirt - Massimo Dutti
Shorts - Zara
Sandals - Primark
Necklace - Emerson Made

I have some cute looks in my head that I will put into practice and then remember to take photos of for next week and a few home sewn pieces that should be finished.  So lots of looks for next week.

Enjoy the sun and keep cool.  ax

Amsterdam Was Wonderful.

Amsterdam was a wonderful treat and getting to meet blogger friends in person and still feeling like you have know them forever is amazing.  The weather was very changeable,  sideways rain to sunshine but we did not let that stop us, I even brought a very chic rain poncho... Above are the girls, Peggy who is currently living in Amsterdam, from the great childrens blog Paul et Paula and Radostina from the very stylish 79 Ideas, if you don't know them check them out, you will not be disappointed.

With over a million bikes in Amsterdam you need somewhere to park it and we managed not to get run over once.

Of course Peggy has a very stylish and practical bike with the seats in the front for the children and the shopping...or me.

Men's fashion....I don't think any men I know would wear this, you?

Amsterdam is a very pretty city and well worth a visit if you get the chance, also it is a only a forty minute flight from London.  Our little blogging gang is now planning the next trip in January to Prague, cold and snowy so I get to wear a big fur hat with no one knowing me.

I am now in rainy England seeing friends and family which is fabulous with sunshine forecast for the weekend, perfect.

I hope your weeks are going well and I will be back in sunny Palma next week.   ax

What I Wore Wednesday Week 19

Hello, I am back, the eye is back to normal after the mozzie got me and I have been snapping away.  I am as always linking up with The Pleated Poppy and all the girls who also run around their gardens taking pictures of themselves.  Mad or brave, what do you think?

Wearing my new EmersonMade top, it is a little thicker than I expected, so it will be put away for a few months, but I love it.  Excuse the bad hair, I let it air dry and then White Snake called wanting their hair back...hehe, it got a lot bigger after this photo.  The humidity was not my friend that day.

Shirt - EmersonMade
Jeans - Gap
Sandals - Woolworths South Africa
Necklace - EmersonMade
Sunglasses - H&M

Now I thought this outfit was really cool, but I am not sure after seeing the photos.  Don't you hate that when it happens?

Shirt - H&M
Shorts - Zara
Necklace - EmersonMade
Belt - H&M
Sandals - As before
Bag - New from a local store

A closer look at my new bag, I love it, leather and only 35€.  Although it does still smell a bit of cows, so it is spending a lot of time outside airing...hehe.  My dragonfly necklace from EmersonMade that I have had my eye on for ages, it is so perfect for me and the Latin inscription say "I shall either find a way or make a way", cute huh.

I am really having trouble taking pictures of myself and as I have a point and shoot I can not get a remote to help, so lots of trial and error.  I tried the body with my favourite skirt but in the end I wore the shirt, what do you think looks best?

Shirt - H&M
Body Suit - New Yorker
Skirt - EmersonMade
Belt - New Yorker
Sandals - Massimo Dutti
Necklace - EmersonMade

It was an Emerson clothes week this week, but as I said to the Captain they all go together and will last for always being of classic design.  (They are a little more expensive than H&M or Zara)  hehe I know but all true.

The heat is back big time, so trying to keep cool is the aim from now on.  My lovely bike that has never left the apartment and now has a flat tyre, very bad I know but I do dust it.

Dress - New Yorker
Necklace - Local Market
Sandals - As before

Well I have been busy sewing and whipped up a little top yesterday afternoon, so very satisfying.  I am off to Amsterdam on Friday to meet up with some blogging friends which should be really good fun, and I have never been so I will take lots of photos for you all.  Then from there I am going home to my family for a week, yippee as I have not seen them for a year now.  I will take my laptop and will still do a couple of posts, just in case you might miss me...hehe.  It is all so exciting!

Have a wonderful Wednesday my friends.  ax

What I Wore Wednesday Week 18.

Well it is that time of week again where I link up with The Pleated Poppy and all the girls over there.  Sorry the posts have been a bit sparse but I have been sewing a lot, it is all finished now apart from the last hem that is giving me trouble.  How typical is that, and I was worried about the pants and they were the easiest part.  I will knuckle down and finish as I am loving the outfit, it is so chic and Coco Channel in the South of France, so pictures soon I promise.

Now back to this weeks outfits, a quiet week with lots of sunshine and a couple of big storms.

Yes, it is number two of that dress style again, I know it is a bit like a five year old's dress, but it is so comfy and cool that you will see them all over the summer hehe.

Dress - Local Boutique
Necklace - Sfera
Shoes - Massimo Dutti - new and they fit me, result
Sunglasses - H&M

Just off around town for a look and to get some food shopping, oh it is a glam life I lead.  Oh and that necklace again, I went to buy a turquoise one in this bib style that I had seen and they were all gone, so disappointed.  Things do not hang around long here due to all the tourists and visitors, so I must remember not to wait next time.

Dress - Zara Kids age 13-14
Necklace - Sfera
Sandals - Woolworths South Africa

Please excuse the old lady grumpy face in the first picture, it is jolly hard getting good shots of yourself using the timer, and I am sure the neighbours think I am mad posing on the terrace with my bags and sunglasses...hehe the things we do for blogging.  We have had some big thunder storms with poor Poppy hiding under the duvet, but at least it was a little cooler so I could wear my pyjama look for another quick visit to the market.

Tunic/Beach Dress - Venus
Linen Trousers - Camaieu in France
Jumper - Boutique in France
Ballet Shoes - Primark
Basket - Local Boutique

Well that's it from me this week, I will be happily looking at all the other girls looks via the Pleated Poppy, you should take a look or even join in, there is a whole world of stylish ladies out there.

Happy Wednesday my lovelies. ax

What I Wore Wednesday Week 17

I am back for another week as the Captain was home to take a few pictures, although we forgot quiet a few days.  I have missed you all, so I am going to try again with the self shots.

As always I will be linking up with The Pleated Poppy and all the ladies over there dressing for themselves.

This was our marathon five hour walk, poor Poppy had to be carried up the stairs but she did get to have two swims, so was very happy.  This dress is also the closest thing to my blog header so it had to be brought.

Dress - H&M ss11
Sandles - Woolworths South Africa
Bag - Local market
Necklace - Sfera ss11
Sunglasses - Solaris

A closer shot of the necklace, it is a wooden bib style and being worn a lot at the moment.

A long lazy lunch before the Captain went back to Italy.  I love this dress as it is light and cool, that's why I have four of them, although one now has bleach on it so it always stays home. (hehe)  These dresses have been on permanent rotaion for three summers now, but they are so easy to wear, flat shoes for day and wedges for night.  Do you have a "go to" item in many colours that always works for you?

Dress - Local boutique (cheap)
Wedge Espadrilles - Local boutique 12€ - you really can't argue with that.
Basket - As above
Necklace - As above
Sunglasses - H&M

Sorry all these were blurry (I blame the photographer).  Just going out for a few drinks with friends.

Shirt - Naf Naf St Tropez
White Jeans - H&M ss11 17.95€
Sandals - BHS

Well thats all I have for you today, I promise to do better next week.  The heat switch has been flicked in the last day or so, so all the summer outfits are now out and ready to go.

I hope the sun is shining on you all, I am off to make my new outfit as voted by you, wish me luck. ax

Growing Old....

I am so in love with this great illustration from The Little Illustrator on Etsy.  Just about sums me up....

Happy Monday my lovelies.  ax

Thank you for all that voted, details of the chosen pattern coming up tomorrow.

He's Home.

The Captain has arrived home for a long weekend and as we have not seen each other for six weeks (which is long enough for me), I am leaving you all for some quality time with my boy, we are going to have some  long lazy lunches and a bit of beach time, I will be back with you all on Tuesday.

hmmm...I can feel the sun warming my bones already.  Have a wonderful weekend my lovelies and don't forget to vote in the last post for what to make next, it is all even at the moment so I need some deciding votes please.  Take care girls.  ax

H&M Score

Hello girls the sun is shining and I have just brought this sunny little number from H&M for 9.95€!  Bargain, the fabric is gorgeous and of course on me it is ankle length, perfect for wafting around at home or the beach.

I am tempted to get the red and pink one as well...Move over pj's the stripy dress is in and just as comfy.

Happy Monday lovelies I hope your week is off to a good start.  ax

Indecisions

I can not make a decision at the moment to save my life and by not making any decisions I am making a choice to do nothing.  It is driving me mad and I have plenty to do.  I need to reorganise the wardrobe and change the winter clothes for the summer, at the moment all the clothes are all over the place, and as for what to wear each day...The pjs' are winning hands down.

This wardrobe room is heaven but I need to make it happen and on a much smaller scale although I do have a spare room.....Not sure what my sister would think when she came to stay and had to sleep in my wardrobe though.

I am also in the middle of making this dress but I can't decide how to finish it.  Plus I made the belt detail and am not sure how to attach it.  I was think of leaving small holes in the seam to allow the belt to be worn just at the front so the back would flow but I can't make up my mind.

And...

As for blog post I have about five half finished ideas that I could not make my mind up on...See it is getting bad!  I think I need my mummy to come over and sort me out on the right path again. (She has had to do this before hehe).  See a girl always need her mum, even when she is a proper grown up.  Sadly this will not be happening for a few months so I need to get on with it....

...What do you do when faced with indecision or when you loose your way and can't seem to get ahead?   Although all the mums' I know do not have the time for such things, I do have the luxury of time.

I hope you all had a wonderful Easter break with a little spring sunshine to warm your skin.  Now what shall I have for lunch?.....

What I Wore Wednesday Week 16

Ok so I am back for another week and linking up with The Pleated Poppy and No Model Lady.  Pop over and join in the fun.  I am back taking the photos on timer, they are better than the mirror shots but my face is not playing nice this week.  Oh well the good with the bad is life....

The weather is still playing nice so the white linen pants are out for a stroll round the park with the dog.

Polo Shirt - H&M
Linen Pants - Brought in France
Belt - American Eagel
Gold Gladiator Sandals - Woolworths in South Africa

I must be a grown up now as I can get two days wear from white pants...Not sure about this look but it was fine for a quick supermarket shop.

White T-Shirt - Zara
White Pants - As above
Leopard Cardi - Sfera
Gold Glads - Woolworths

I tried this on in Zara but didn't buy as it may be too warm for the summer and I don't look so great in high necks, but it is a great version of Dolce & Gabbanas white lacy looks.  If it still in the shop come next month I may buy it...

This is a new dress which will be easy and breezy come summer (without a belt) but still smart enough for town.  Please take note of colour...yes I am giving it a whirl.

Dress - Sfera
Necklace - Sfera
Patent Nude Glads - Brought in France

So how are you all finding dressing for warmer weather, love it, hate it, not sure what styles to choose this year?  What about colour are you going to give it a whirl?  Lets share the tips ladies and then we can all look cool and chic this summer.

Happy Wednesday and I am over 100 posts, so I am a little bit proud of myself...Thank you for following.  ax
